Tropical had recently upgraded to PeopleSoft HR 8.3 and Financials 8.4 when it learned of the Oracle acquisition and was concerned of the support retirement for its versions, due to Oracle's four-year support policy. Rather than be forced to upgrade, Tropical decided to look for a support alternative that would enable the company to take control of its IT strategy.
